This publication contains a selection of songs, spells and stories from the historical Viljandi County, most of which were audio-recorded in the 1960s/1970s. in the years.

The introduction contains excerpts from the expedition diaries, in which we publish memories of the people we met and the places we visited.

Audio recordings of songs and instrumental songs can be found in the record collection “Viljandimaa Folk Songs and Instrumental Songs” compiled by Ingrid Rüütl (Audio recordings from Estonian Folk Music Archive 15).
