This book has been created jointly by the Estonian National Museum and Eesti Pank.

Publishing the rich folk art collections of the Estonian National Museum in the art books of Eesti Pank is a way for us to show our appreciation of our folk culture. By treasuring our historical cultural heritage, bu opening it up and interpreting it, we give it new life.

The collection of beer tankards of the Estonian National Museum is the only one of its kind in the whole world. Not only does this reflect the mastery of their makers but also the story of our ancestors. By reading and understanding this story we realise the perpetual value and creative significance of folk art even today.
