Rugs have been woven in Estonian homes since the beginning of the construction of so-called “clean chambers”, where table floors needed protection and decoration. The colorful stripe magic on the floor still creates a cosiness in the room today.

The author of the book is Veinika Västrik, an experienced weaving teacher who has briefly and clearly written a practical tutorial for those who want to knit the first rug of their lives or learn a few simple tricks. Along with many explanatory photos and drawings, everything in the book is important – from cutting rags and weaving yarn to applying fabric, knitting and weaving.
