Exhibition catalogue “Encounters. The core exhibition of Estonian cultural history at the Estonian National Museum” presents an overview of most of the exhibited items and related stories. “Encounters” focuses on the everyday life of the Estonian population both today and in the distant past. The exhibition displays mainly objects and stories of little-known people in society.
The general title “Encounters” refers to a complex of twelve individual exhibitions. Among them are displays of traditional Estonian peasant culture as well as Soviet everyday life, rural life and urban life, people’s homes and food culture, runo song and the Estonian language. A separate room is for the Estonia’s first blue, black and white flag.
